Side note,
Heard some very troubling news about a friend last fri. Felt so helpless because there seems to be no way to reach her. I prayed that You will send someone to her life at this moment to support her or give me a way to reach her. I was surprised to be able to get her email after praying about it in service and got her contact right after service when I decided to say hi to a couple people that I haven't spoke to for some time. Ashamed by my little faith and amazed by Your works. thanks for answering my prayers!

"Hexen, your hair is really LONG!"
I have been hearing this sentence more and more now. I am very proud that I am able to keep it this long and resisted the temptation to cut it, partly because I was terribly lazy and buzy to move my bum to the salon and too cheap to spend money to cut it. =P However, the main reason for it is I really wanted to donate my hair to charity!!!! I learn that there's such thing call cuts for cancer and been wanting to do it for a while. The sad news hit me on Wednesday that I cannot donate my hair because I'd dyed it before. The dyed part will not be accepted!! this is SADDDDD!!

Anyways, I have made up my mind, I shall wait patiently for all my dyed hair to grow out and grow more black hair and I SHALL DONATE MY HAIR!! it's part of my bucket list =D

Made cookies for my classmate on tuesday nite, wrapped it on wednesday morning and brought it to class. and, She didn't turn up.. Another classemate end up feeding me with tonnes of oatmeal raisin cookies that she bought for me from tim hortons, Such a sweet girl! She is those kind of frens who are very loyal and takes good care of friends that she cares. She taught me a lot too. Am so blessed!! Felt bad for her condition, being allergy to almost everything! I should include her in prayers =)

Went and mend the MHAC booth, met Natalie Mun, very sweet girl too! =)
Helped my sister from Bethel adopt-a-student program to move, I am so thankful to have Chris in my life! He's just a wonderful guy, helping out people that he didn't even know! Nice guy bt so many terrible things happened to him... death of his wife and daughter... I really felt like crying when he said his daughter, Jennifer would be my age doing university and would be having these moving house moments if she's still alive... God, I thank You for sending so many people around his life when he's at his weakest. You are so wonderful! =) Thx for reminding me of how wonderful You have been.

Had a great bonding session with Saq n Ryan. I guess I'm starting to be more open in sharing my feelings and thoughts with people. They really understand me and gave me the time to put my thoughts together and speak out how I felt, I still find it hard at times but I am really thankful for them. I really do.

Starting to c the effects of blogging, I felt so far away from You this week and this blog just brought me clsoer to You again. Thank You =)

I'll have to say, I have awesome housemates that totally know how to make my day!!!

Have been really stressed out recently, last night decided to just stay home and relax with my housemates. Jason gt back home in the evening with tonnes of funny youtube videos bookmarked on his lappie. It WAS HILARIOUS!!! ketchabot, retarded star wars trumpet opening sessions, fireworks, threadmill running gone wrong!! Come to think about it, those are the kinds of videos that you will only find it funny when you watch it with friends.

Stayed home with Ryan and we had a Sherlock Holmes n SMASH night =) Wonderful time, made me realize that hanging out doesnt have to be all talking. Sitting back, enjoying each other's company works too =) n I really needed that =)

I miss home, Happy Chinese New Year! =)
Getting videos from family back home, gosh I miss the familiarity!! skype session is well needed!! =D

I am glad I made it to the first lab of the semester!! It was the one thing that I looked forward to this week!! Why am I so excited about the lab? Answers will be given aft =P

Woke up 45min earlier, took a shower, ran into my houseamtes' room to borrow two lab coats, grabbed a banana (apparently my fren told me that i'm not suppose to eat banana empty stomach, dunno why though...) and left the house hoping that I did not miss the bus. stepping out of the house is like entering another world. It was soo warm and cozy inside the house, as soon as I walked out, cold wind mixed with slushy ice rain hit my face. It was freezing rain!!! I didnt have time to go back in to change shoes so i literally stomped all the way to the bus stop. Few branches fell on the sideways and I had to lift up my foot to slowly climb through the branches. Finally I made it to the bus stop. guess wat, I was on time for the bus. HOWEVER, the bus was full..... everyone took the bus because it was freezing rain...

Was debating between walking to class or wait for the next bus... end up deciding to wait for the bus because the sideways are extremely slippery and I dun have the right shoes to walk on it... Bus din came on time and was 10min late... I almost faint when I saw the bus saying "full bus", I almost gave up and walk back home n jux go to bed in a sulky mood. It turns out that the bus was not excatly "full" and I got on the bus!! *yay!!*

Finally I made it to the medic building, climb three flight of stairs n rush into the lab. It was also my first time stepping foot into the new medic building! hehehe As soon as I got into the lab, a group of students followed the TA into the museum, TA was so nice (although I was late) She told me to keep my stuff in the locker and join their group aft. I rushed!! As soon as i stepped in to the museum, I feel like all the cold shivering adventure is worth it. It front of me is a display of VARIOUS HUMAN BODY PARTS!!! It's sooo cool!!! we get to see and touch various body parts and study them!! That's right, it's an Anatomy lab!! I was bugging the TA all the time asking question about the body parts =D hehehehehe thx TA for being so patient with me =P

The wasnt the highlight yet!

Aft spending 30min at the first stop, the next TA came and pick us up to the next stop: Seeing the two whole cadavers right in front of my eyes!! I put on gloves and start listening to what the TA has to say. She told us to feel free to explore and touch the body with gentleness. I get to hold a person's heart and saw aneurysm that didn't burst at the aorta. Lungs were the part that surprised me the most. TA had describe to us bfore bt I really didn't expect it to feel so different. It's soft and mushy, it's like touching a balloon filled with flour in except it's more firm...firm tofu? hmm... cant really find the right words to explain it, but yeah it is really cool/exciting/weird/interesting kinda feeling touching the cadavers =D Totally made my day!! hahahaha Looking forward to more anatomy class =D bt nt the bell ringing test though >.<

Today's prayer session was fruitful too, though just the two of us who showed up, i'm glad we continue with it =D

It's just the first two days of class n I can feel the stress!! did i mention I disliek my schedule? It's sooooo spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaced out.....

Good things is, I am liking all the subject I am taking this semester, this is going to be a good sem~~ =) =) Hopefully I can figure out something to do to fill in the gap I have in between classes =D =D

Sometimes I wonder, am i trying to find ways to justify my actions or it's actually the truth? Child soldier forced to kill best friend at age 5

Former Congo resident, now a motivational speaker, to recount his experiences in Vancouver

Five-year-old Michel was under strict instructions from his father to be home at 6 p.m.

But after school that day he fell into a soccer game with some friends, and when it was time to head home, the self-described troublemaker decided to play a little longer. It was a decision that would set the course for the rest of his life.

Army trucks pulled up to the soccer pitch of the school, in the town of Beni in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Soldiers jumped out and shouted at the kids to stand up. They shot one to scare the rest into submission.

"At first I thought maybe that this was a joke," said Michel Chikwanine, now 23, who will be in Vancouver on Thursday to speak at We Day.

Undeterred, and thinking the boy who had been shot was playing dead, which children were taught to do when there were bullets flying around, Chikwanine approached one of the soldiers, who was about 5-foot-7 and carrying an AK-47, yelling that his father would find the soldiers and beat him up unless they let him go. The soldier only laughed.

The soldiers forced the children into trucks, drove them for several hours along a bumpy road and then ordered them out.

"I remember the first step that I took out of the truck. I heard crunches underneath my feet and as I looked on the ground there were skeletons, and they were scattered all over the ground and there were hundreds of them," Chikwanine recalled.

The children were then told that they were going to be initiated into an army to free the Congo. One of the soldiers grabbed Chikwanine and started cutting his wrist. As he was screaming in pain, the soldier rubbed a mixture of cocaine and gunpowder into the wound, which was very painful, he recalled.

He was then blindfolded and forced to stand up as a soldier placed an AK-47 in his hands. It was so heavy that he dropped it at first, but a soldier picked it up, gave it back to him, placed his finger on the trigger and ordered him to shoot.

The blast was so powerful that it left his hand shaking and he dropped the gun again. Then the soldiers took off the blindfold.

"I was looking at my arm and there was blood dripping from it," Chikwanine recalled. "I looked at my shirt - at that time I was wearing a white Superman shirt because I used to love Superman - as I was looking at the shirt there was blood dripping from it as well. So I looked in front of me and I saw Kevin, my best friend, lying dead in a pool of his own blood.

"At five years old, I was forced to kill my best friend as a way of being initiated into an army."

Two weeks later, the boys were told that they were going to raid a village for food and supplies. As they were on their way, Chikwanine saw a clearing in the trees and decided to make a run for it. He ran through the jungle for three days, spending the cold nights sleeping under trees. Finally, he saw a store he recognized, the place his father used to take him to buy ice cream.

His father was in the store when the little boy ventured in, and began yelling at his son, asking him where he'd been.

The Congo at the time was embroiled in what is sometimes referred to as the Great War of Africa, which has killed more people, mostly through disease and starvation, than any interstate conflict since the Second World War. Many rebel armies passed through Chikwanine's town, killing politicians and raping women, always at night.

Chikwanine's father was a prominent human rights activist, writing stories for local and international media to try to tell the world what was happening.

As a result of his actions, Chikwanine's father was kidnapped by a particularly thuggish group of rebels, taken to a secret prison under the airport and tortured for seven months. When town residents found him, the 6-foot-8, 250-pound man with the commanding presence was a shell of his former self, unable to even stand on his own. Realizing the danger he was in, he contacted a friend in neighbouring Uganda and arranged to go into exile in that country.

Shortly after his father left, rebel soldiers came to the house looking for his father's writings. It was a Friday afternoon, Chikwanine recalled, and he was doing math homework when he heard gunshots outside his house. His mother and two older sisters started screaming for help.

"At 10 years old I was so traumatized by what I had done as a child soldier that every time I heard gunshots I kept hearing all these people that I'd killed, all these voices," Chikwanine said. "Eventually I just closed my eyes and I remember just running under my bed in tears. I started crying and I didn't know what to do. And I remember sitting underneath my bed thinking to myself 'What would my father do?' " He remembered that his father had told him he was the man of the house now and must protect his family, so he decided to venture out. As he was about to take his first step down the stairs, he heard the click of a gun behind his head. The soldier marched him down to the kitchen, where he was forced to watch his mother and two other sisters be raped by soldiers.

His two older sisters, ashamed of having been raped, ran away. The remaining family members - Chikwanine, his mother and younger sister - left in the middle of the night to join his father in Uganda. They lived for a year in a refugee camp in the north of the country before moving to the capital city of Kampala, where an office of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees is based. Chikwanine's father would wake up at 3 a.m. every morning and walk for three hours from the garage where the family lived to the UNHCR office, wait with thousands of other refugees all day in the faint hope that someone might help him.

When Chikwanine came home from school that day, he was shocked to find his normally stoic father sitting on the bed crying.

"Michel, always remember that great men and great women are not described by their money or their success, but rather by their heart and what they do for other people," Chikwanine recalled his father saying just before he died. The family later found out he had been poisoned.

His mother then took on the job of walking to the UNHCR every day, which was dangerous for a woman on her own, and officials were willing to listen to her now that her husband had been killed. They arranged for most of the family to emigrate to Canada.

Chikwanine's two older sisters, who had fled after being raped in the Congo, had made contact with the family in Kampala. But because they were older than 18 and had children of their own - the result of being raped as rebel wives after being kidnapped by soldiers - they were classified as separate families.

It was -42 C the day Chikwanine, his mother and his younger sister arrived in Ottawa in 2004. Chikwanine remembers stepping off the plane, feeling his face freeze, and turning right back around to get back on the plane. He asked his mother if they could come back when winter was over.

"I'll never forget that day for many different reasons," he said. "I think one of the things that stuck with me to this day is I remember looking up in the sky and the first thing that I noticed about Canada was that there were no bullets flying by."

Chikwanine now lives in Toronto and works as a motivational speaker for Me to We. He also helps arrange youth trips to volunteer abroad.

One of Chikwanine's older sisters eventually did make it to Canada, but only after being raped along with her daughter and submitting the police report to Citizenship and Immigration Canada to prove she was in danger.

The other sister never returned from a trip to collect her travel documents in 2006. The family assumes she is dead.

Highly recommend this movie to everyone!

The acting was ok, but the storyline is GREAT! So inspiring! and it's based on a true story!Been wanting to watch this movie since the beginning of the year and finally! I have no idea of all time, I picked the busiest time to watch this movie. It turns out to be worth it!! =D

God has His plan for each and everyone of us. When something bad happens, something good follows. There is ALWAYS a reason why God let that happen.

Before this movie, I used to feel a little annoyed about the fact that my English ain't as good as others which made me felt like I'm not on the same starting line. *spoiler alert* Bethany has only one arm, she doesn't have the same starting line as others too, yet she wants to be treated equally and strive for the best! Not having the same starting line as others made us strive harder and not leave us in a comfort zone. People tend to take things for granted when they are in a comfort zone, at least I tend to get lazy =P

I went to a dinner party at a friend's home last weekend, and met her five-year-old daughter for the first time. Little Maya was all curly brown hair and doe-like dark eyes, and adorable in her shiny pink nightgown. I wanted to squeal, "Maya, you're so cute! Look at you! Turn around and model that pretty ruffled gown, you gorgeous thing!" But I didn't. I squelched myself. I always bite my tongue when I meet little girls, restraining myself from my first impulse, which is to tell them how darn cute/pretty/beautiful/well-dressed/well-manicured/well-coiffed they are.

What's wrong with that? It's our culture's standard talking-to-little-girls icebreaker, isn't it? And why not give them a sincere compliment to boost their self-esteem? Because they are so darling I just want to burst when I meet them, honestly.

Hold that thought for just a moment.

In June, ABC News America reported that nearly half of all three- to six-year-old girls worry about being fat, while earlier this month, beauty pageants for children landed on Australian shores for the first time. In my book, Think: Straight Talk for Women to Stay Smart in a Dumbed-Down World, I reveal that 15 to 18 per cent of under-12 girls in the United States now wear mascara, eyeliner and lipstick regularly; eating disorders are up, and self-esteem is down; and 25 per cent of young American women would rather win America's Next Top Model than the Nobel Peace Prize. Even bright, successful, university-educated women say they'd rather be hot than smart. A Miami mother recently died from cosmetic surgery, leaving behind two teenagers. This keeps happening, and it breaks my heart.

Teaching girls that their appearance is the first thing you notice tells them that looks are more important than anything. It sets them up for dieting at age five and foundation at age 11 and boob jobs at 17 and Botox at 23. As our cultural imperative for girls to be hot 24/7 has become the new normal, women have become increasingly unhappy. What's missing? A life of meaning, a life of ideas and reading books and being valued for our thoughts and accomplishments.

That's why I force myself to talk to little girls as follows. "Maya," I said, crouching down at her level, looking into her eyes, "very nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you, too," she said in that trained, polite, talking-to-adults good-girl voice.

"Hey, what are you reading?" I asked, a twinkle in my eyes. I love books. I'm nuts for them. I let that show.

Her eyes got bigger, and the practised, polite facial expression gave way to genuine excitement over this topic. She paused, though, a little shy of me, a stranger.

"I love books," I said. "Do you?"

Most kids do.

"Yes," she said. "And I can read them all by myself!"

"Wow, amazing!" I said. And it is, for a five-year-old. You go on with your bad self, Maya.

"What's your favourite book?" I asked.

"I'll go get it! Can I read it to you?"

Purplicious was Maya's pick and a new one to me, as Maya snuggled next to me on the sofa and proudly read aloud every word about our heroine who loves pink but is tormented by a group of girls at school who only wear black. Alas, it was about girls and what they wore, and how their wardrobe choices defined their identity.

But after Maya closed the final page, I steered the conversation to the deeper issues in the book: mean girls and peer pressure and not going along with the group. I told her my favourite colour in the world is green, because I love nature, and she was down with that. Not once did we discuss clothes or hair or bodies or who was pretty. It's surprising how hard it is to stay away from those topics with little girls, but I'm stubborn.

I told her that I'd just written a book, and that I hoped she'd write one, too, one day. She was fairly psyched about that idea. We were both sad when Maya had to go to bed, but I told her next time to choose another book and we'd read it and talk about it. Oops. That got her too amped up to sleep, and she came down from her bedroom a few times, all hyped up.

So, one tiny bit of opposition to a culture that sends all the wrong messages to our girls. One tiny nudge towards valuing female brains. One brief moment of intentional role modelling. Will my few minutes with Maya change our multibillion-dollar beauty industry, reality shows that demean women, our celebrity-manic culture? No. But I did change Maya's perspective for at least that evening.

Try this the next time you meet a little girl. She may be surprised and unsure at first because few ask her about her mind, but be patient and stick with it. Ask her what she's reading. What does she like and dislike, and why? There are no wrong answers. You're just generating an intelligent conversation that respects her brain.
For older girls, ask her about current issues: pollution, wars, school budgets slashed. What bothers her out there in the world? How would she fix it if she had a magic wand? You may get some intriguing answers. Tell her about your ideas and accomplishments and your favourite books. Model for her what a thinking woman says and does.

Nightmare

I woke up at 3:55am this morning bcox of a nightmare... My heartbeat was beating so fast and my body's sweating like nobody's business (was gonna use sweat like a dog bt dog doesnt actually sweat so yeah) anyways, bak to the topic, it felt so scary! It's like i'm in a horror movie and i'm the main actress in the movie (if it's a real movie,it'll definitely b a oscar winning movie hehehe)

anyways from the point i can rmb about the dream was me entering a warehouse-ish circus with game machines kinda thing around... sounds like a very good beginning for a scary movie eh? in the whole big warehouse, there is only this small little girl staring at you with her innocent eyes. I can faintly hear the voices of a couple tough guys at the far bak of the warehouse which i think the point is that they didn't know I was inside. However, for some reason like a movie, i can c the image of what those guys are doing: drinking beer playing pool smoking n laughing~~ I just stood there as soon as I saw the little innocent girl... bfore I started saying anything, the little girl approached me and ask: Can I hug you pls? with the biggest smile on her face. For some reason that I don't know I start to feel scared.... i think in the dream world i had, there're cases whr little girl are asked to hug strangers n force them to give them candy/money in order for them to let go of u, for some reason the hug is a very scary hug, it's accompanied by high frequency screams n tonnes of hopping! In my dreams I refused to conform n tried really hard to battle with the little girl. the only thing i rmb is my heart is pumping so fast right aft i manage to make her fall down (sounds very cruel of me to drop the kid bt it felt so scary dat time!!) n run for my life, just when the guys realize i'm escaping n is chasing aft me, i woke up sweating like mad!

Wonderful first day of semester!

Started my first day of classes by going to the hospital to visit my friend! It's been really nice to see her aft such a long time =D she turned prettier aft the break!

Aft picking her up from the sun room, we went bak to her room to spend some time together. Found out that she had a wonderful Xmas and New Year! Both of us enjoyed shopping and hates dentists! hahahahahahaha It was just so inspiring spending time with her. Seeing her recover little by little, with the effort that she put in, the struggles that she had gone through, is ever so inspiring! And I felt that we've built a mo qi (something like knowing how each other feels) between each other. I'm really glad that she is willing to open up to me. From her I learnt the gift of paying attention and just listen carefully. Like I said before, if you are willing to share, there are ppl willing to care. Same goes the other way round too! If you are willing to care, someone is willing to share! That's what I felt from her! =D Thanks for being in my life dear friend =D Can't wait to see you next Monday! =D

Aft the visit, I came back home and continue eating the food I made bfore I left hehehehe (was too rush to finish it up cox it was too hot) hehehe watched a video, fell asleep halfway hehehe

Woke up pretty late and end up rushing to class in a blur mode of not knowing what to expect. Luckily the class was just an introduction heheheh phew! =P Met the girl I met during skating trip, we have so many classes in common!! hehehehehe looks like we're gonna spend quite a lot of time together! hehehehe

Came bak n made some pasta for dinner and lunch for the next day. It was yummy hehehhee
Went out at about 7pm to DG group. Met up with Dhinaa to grab my work and study application form from her =D We talked a bit about last night. (hmm.. sounds wrong.. hahaha)

Went for my DG aft that. Today we share about what has 2010 did to us and wat we want to achieve in 2011. A lot had happened in 2010. Good things and bad things happened in 2010. Bt whatever that has happened, both good and bad events have all turned into memories. Good sweet memories =D It's interesting to know that no matter how bitter things went, it all turn into sweet memories when you look bak =D (sometimes u will just laughed at urself when looking bak hehe)

One MAJOR thing that I would like to share here:
In the DG session, we are told to write down how much time we spent per week in the 16 things that I will list below:

1) Social activities
2) Being in class
3) Homework
4) TV & Movies
5) Reading
6) Exercise
7) Sleep
8) Preparing & Eating meals
9) Internet (fb, msn n stuff)
10) Hygiene
11) Travel time (time you take to travel to classes)
12) Errants (like groceries, pay bills)
13) Work
14) Devotional time
15) Ministry related stuff
16) Other stuff (which for my case, volunteer drops here)

It was a wake up call in showing how unbalanced I have spent my time on things that I shouldnt spend that much time on. I need to reorganized my time and discipline myself more! =D

It's so unbalanced that I feel so shy to share it out =P bt one thing I can tell is that the time I spend on internet is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY longer than the time I spend for God. *shame shame*

Need to change that =D someone pls help me be acountable! (thx koko for correcting me!) =P

One small embarrassing to share before I close, hopefully can make someone laugh (someone better laugh, if not i mempersiasuikan myself for nothing):
When we're asking what we want to achieve in 2011, i intended to say more sharing with ppl
instead, i end up saying more SCARING with ppl...

Gt my clearance on x-ray! My lungs were perfectly normal!! which makes me wonder about the negative results i had on the mantoux test...hmm....

Got a placement in the mental health hospital!! yay!! (ok, dat sounds like i gt admitted into a mental health hospital... rephrase!) Manage to get a volunteer position in the mental health hospital! Looking forward to volunteer thr!! SHOOOOOOO EXCITED!!! hahahaaha

Life's been gud so far! Had a yummy thanksgiving dinner with Mr Azroy's family =) Feel bad for not finishing the monopoly game with Arman... Sorry Arman, will play with u again sometime in the future! Had a great time there! Felt the warmth of a family thr =) *homesick* =P Time to giv mama a call! =)

Well, it's time to head bak to assignments n exams! How I wish classes are like wat julie's pastor said, sitting outdoors in a circle and talk about life! I'm sure i will learn much better den jux completing assignments!

Bt still, assignments n exams are to make sure that we understand the syllabus =) u will still have to learn n study the materials anyway, so why not studying it in a happy mood? =)

Learnt smth dis week: As more of a hand-on person, I've been oways prefer hands-on experience in learning new things, hence the volunteering work. I've been oways wondering why do we need to study when most of the things are not needed in work or are already in the textbook? Why don't we jux learn things practically? If we need more information, there's always books there for us to review from. Well, the funny thing is, I found my answer through volunteering and talking with ppl. Therapists have undergo the process of studying and because they do well in their studies and know their stuff well, they are able to diagnose people on the spot. Who would want to hire a therapist who is unsure about everything and need to go through tonnes of book while trying to diagnose or treat you compare to someone who is experience and have every information in mind while treating u? It shows dat we need to learn the basics well bfore we pursue to the practical work! (Hmm... i tink i'm confusing ppl more...) well in short, learn ur stuff well in order to b able to do the things you like! (you mux noe ur theories well in order to apply dem, if nt u'll jux gonna mess things up!)

Toronto trip was awesome! Glad to see that everyone's doing well thr (I hope)
Will try to spend more time in prayers for everyone =)

Hi bloggy, i'm bak to entertain u now =) i wont dump u bloggy dun worry =) I still love u bloggy =) your d best blog i ever had! =P (well i tink dat's bcox dis is d longest i ever had =P)

Aft high sch is the time whr i start to xperience a lot of changes in my life. =)

I decided to go to HELP University College to do my foundation because they offer really gud psych degree over thr =) and they offered me a scholarship (c, i'm smart eh? XD) In the beginning I decided to stay in a room name Irene. She's a very sweet girl that I met in the edu fair in penang and my mom suggested dat y nt we stay together since we can come bak together as well =) So i was like y not? she's very nice and pretty =)

Life's pretty gud in the beginning and it gt better aft i met wit a bunch of crazy ppl! yes u! Cynthia, Jun and Jo Eve were the first few best friends I made in HELP =) later I met Jing in the ground floor and I can recall the time when I met her! It's so funny!! Can you believe that we're actually from the same high school? haha same age, same sch, same hometown! We knew each other's existence but we never talked to each other bfore! (well u cant blame me cox my form has 600++ ppl and u cant expect me to rmb dat many names eh? plus i'm more to my orchestra dat time so.... hehe) We were like pointing at each other repeatedly (meaning we knew each other) but we jux cant say out the other person's name =P it's jux so funny! haha (am really laughing while typing dis) =P I told her my room number and ask her to visit me when she's free. I can still rmb she's really quiet dat time and Cynthia and Jun had manage to dig out her potential craziness and she turn out to b d queen of crazyness!!! XD Hanging out with Jun, Cynthia, Jo eve and Jing are really really fun! oh ya! n book feng as well XD c! I stil rmb boon feng lo... I stil rmb his existence XD getting lost for the first time and end up having bah kut teh is EPIC (Tham, 2009)!! =P haha I really want to list out every single crazy moment together here!! bt i shall keep it in my mind cox i'm really lazy to type now... hehe i better finishh dis post before my laziness wins (fights bak laziness.... oh oouuu! it's getting stronger! I mux b fast! XD)

The most important thing here is that I met Him when I'm in HELP =) Thanks to Jun and my morale assignment =) And the very fist gift He gave me is JPA scholarship =) It has been my dream since young to go overseas to study and travel and it came through! Thank You my Lord! =) Come to think about it, He didnt give me USA thought I said it in the interview because I can stil rmb when I was really young, I have been saying I wanna go to Canada! He knows! =) I am really grateful for this gift and I will try my best to be the best! =)

Accepting the scholarship means an end to my life in HELP.... Short but exciting!! miss those days so much!! =) all the cooking in the room, hangin out till late nite, insightful chat with jun, crazy photo taking session, bullying Jo Eve and Jing sessions hehe all the sweet memories =)

It's been a long time since I blog..... Y? u might b wondering..... thr're times whr i hv the urge to blog.... (believe me, plenty of times) yet, a lot of things that drew me back, mainly: laziness.... no time.... and soemtimes when i feel like blogging when i'm in a bad mood, it stops me cox i felt thr's enough upset post in my blog..... lots of reason that keeps me from blogging......

Well, here am I! it's been a long time sine 17 april 1990..... i felt that my life is changing at a faster pace.... I can still remember when I was young, playing around with my cousin, being ridiculously boyish (trust me, u will believe that i'm a boy when u c me dat time, with my boyish name that contributed to it as well) to primary sch whr i hv no idea wat's happening and y all the kids mux wear d same thing and b in the same room while all the parents are outside the room looking with a concerned look....

I can still rmb my dad praising me for performing well in sch when I was in standard 4....dat time i hav no idea y did he praise me.... i din know i was top ten in sch, i din know till I was in standard 4 that i hav sat for so many exams (wish i still hv the blur attitude right now so i wont feel nervous when i sit for exams hehe) well i guess that was the beginning of me knowing about the usage of figures to determine a person's ranking in the sch, society and life..... (which to me i felt is the beginning of the loss of innocent-ness)

- I can still rmb bout the story my friend told me about a little kid that

choses money over a teddy bear..... ppl nowadays will think that he's smart

to take the money, it's gud to not be naive, he has the chance to b a

successful businessman bla bla bla... however, i felt dat the innocent is no

longer thr.... this is jux my own opinion.... i felt that once you learn about

the importance of money, u will bcome very materialistic, u start to care

bout money, ur no longer the innocent little kid.... (some ppl might think it's

a gud think bt i dun) 童真已失去 了.... y do the little kids need to grow up so

fast.... y not let dem enjoy a few more moments of freedom of troubles that

involves money... y dun let dem hav d time to enjoy their naive life that does

not show the ugly side of human beings.... (i can stil rmb thr's once i get so

digusted of the ugliness of human till i feel so hopeless) i cant denied the

importance of money bt the i jux dun like the ugliness of it..... i dun like ppl

to fight over money..... (bt real life u have to start doing it when u start to hv

no money left...) it really feels shitty to ask ppl for money.... (haha, jux

ignore my weird n lame opinion, forgive my poor ability to express my

feelings) gosh! i really love to crap! XD

Then to the time whr i was in high sch, whr the main reason i go to sch is bcox of the orchestra life i am having. I really enjoy those times, I really love the moment when u gt the victory aft all the hard work that u'd put in before this, I really miss the times whr a concert turn out to b a success aft all the training being put in, I really miss the time travelling together to a place to perform, the time whr we cried bcox of the pressure from parents and from the competition....all that i can say is all the good memories are still the good memories while all the tough times has also become good memories as well!! I felt that i had really lived my high sch life to the fullest! =) though there are still some regrets in my high sch life ( i regret for not spending more time wit my fren dat r not in the orchestra) bt i really have a happy time in my high sch =)

after high sch is the time my transition starts to accelerate.... *to be continued*

I dun mean 2 go against it, jux dat i have a piece of advice for her:

Actually nt only for those going 2 tourism sector only....

kinda applicable for everyone....

When we are considering our future career, I noe it is good to cosider about ur interest too

havin ur interest in your career is a good thing

the problem here is that do we have the continuous passion for it?

Are we ready to commit into it?

she dun really understand,

she insisted on as long as she has the interest in travel,

it will no longer ba prob

Mayb an example will make things clearer:

the life of a chef

chefs cook a lot

it will be fun at first when u start learning new dishes,

expecially when u enjoy doing it.

After learning the dishes,

u went to work under a restaurant

it was very great and interesting and fun at first,

when ur doing things for the first few times,

it's fresh n interesting, n fun too!

bt as time goes by, will u b having the same passion in cooking like u first had on the first few days of work?

will u feel alrite if ur doing d same dishes everyday? (thr's oways a few customer's favourite dish rite?)

I used to tink of tourism too cox I really enjoy travelling

however, after observing wat a tour guide does, I felt bad for them....

their passion is no longer thr, dey have been to all of those places for sooooooo many times dat when dey reach thr dey jux help ppl 2 snap photos ar jux sit down thr and arrange hotel rooms, meal plans n stuff like dat

it's no longer a part of ur interest

n doind d same thing again n again will definitely make me lost my passion (nt 2 say everything bt most o the things)

so, jux some thoughts:

when ur determine 2 go into certain feel, make sure that ur prepare 2 commit and will have continuous passion for it!

if u tink dat u can do the same things again n again without losing ur passion

U'l definitely gt my 100% support =)

Oh ya! one more thing!

dis is wat my mom told me:

when ur picking a career,

rmb 2 think of the following 3 criterias (now I have 4)

1: ur family

2: ur health

3: Ur career

4: GOD (Newly add) =)

when ur picing a career, rmb 2 consider the 4 factors above,

make sure that u wont neglect anyone of them....

I have seen too many ppl having their career factor as the first

where they neglected their health, family, n GOD.

No matter wat happens, I stil thinks that career is nt as important as the other three factors.

bt without d support of my family, without the presence of GOD, without good health,

Tracking stuff is soooooooo cool!!

The delivery company sent me an email saying that a shipment has been sent by waterloo to my house in Bukit Mertajam and that mail was to track where has it gone.....

That was already cool (4 me la)

bt, the coolest part was to jux see where it had gone~ (inother words, stalking it) keke...

It took 3 days only to be sent from totonto to Bukit Mertajam!! (at's fast n efficient!) =)

and the service is really good, for I can just go online and check it through my email without having 2 log in2 smth website....... (my fav part =D, stalking without having to log in) [hey, it actually rhymes!!] =P

Seeing it being ship from toronto to London, to Kuala Lumpur, to Petaking Jaya, to Penang and lastly my home, that was realy cool ( n i jux realize that my shipment package has jux been to places I had never been to b4.....should I feel bad 4 dat?? =P)

anyways, after checking it this morning, I jux found out that the shipment was delivered in good condition ytd afternoon =)

someone scribbled a question in the drawer of my desk in Data class saying,

"Why we need to study?"

The old me will give a lot of explanation saying it's for our future.....it's for parents' sake....

Bt now, as soon as I saw the message, Dunno y,
the things that pops up from my mind was,
it's the same answer as why we need to eat?

2day, ramdomly, I googled happy/happiness.
Dun ask me y i did dat cox I jux feel like googling smth n dis word jux pop up from my mind =P
Mayb it's bcox I gt UBC offer....

one thing that I found out is that, the images that I clicked to, oways leads me 2 long long article about happiness

one thing that I am very sure of is that:

I dun fell happy when I need 2 read such long articles lo~~!!!! >.< (this icon looks like a rat...)

for, me happiness is a very simple thing....
maybe it's not dat simple for others,
bt for me, happiness is jux a smile from ppl around me...
perhaps a hug, a warm yet simple "hello!" =)

Y there is oways not enough time??!!

Y we fail to have more time when we needed time most??!!

I had been thinking about it for a very very very long time and finally I gt the answer.
